The First Season of the European Poker Tour

In every major event, the first season always play a very important role in what it will become in the future. The same thing happened with the european poker Tour. After a successful first season, the event took the world of poker by storm. This was the very first step the event has taken before it was able to establish itself as one of the most prestigious poker events.

Since then, the tour has been showcasing some of the best poker tournaments in Europe as well as the best poker players worldwide. The short but effective format of this event made it endearing to the various television viewers worldwide, particularly those who live in Europe. This event served as a very big break for all the aspiring European poker players out there. By emerging victorious in this particular event, they could gain the poker glory which all players have been dreaming of.

The debut season of the European Poker Tour took off at the EPT Barcelona Open that was held on the 18th and 19th of September 2004. The total number of poker players who joined the event reached 229. The grand winner of this event was Alexander Stevic of Sweden, who took home the grand prize of 80,000 Danish Kroner or $98,000.

This particular tournament was a No Limit Texas Holdem with a 1,000 Danish Kroner buy-in. The event featured the likes of David O'Callaghan from Ireland, Luca Pagano from Italy, and Adam Robak from Poland. These three European poker players took home the biggest prizes that were given at the tournament. O'Callaghan took home a total of 41,000 Danish Kroner or $50,225. Meanwhile, Pagano took home a total prize of 20,000 Danish Kroner or $24,500. On the other hand, Robak took home a total prize of 12,600 Danish Kroner or $15,435.

The EPT London tournament in England was then held from October 9 to 10, 2004. It was won by John Shipley, who took home a grand prize of 291,276 Danish Kroner. The next tournament was the EPT Dublin in Ireland. This particular event was won Ram Vaswani, who took home a grand prize of 93,000 Danish Kroner.

Meanwhile, the EPT Copenhagen tournament in Denmark was won by Noah Boeken. He took home a total of 147,133 Danish Kroner. It was then followed by the EPT French Open tournament in France, which was dominated by Brandon Schaefer. He was able to take home a total of 144,000 Danish Kroner. The EPT Vienna tournament in Austria was won by Pascal Perrault for the grand prize of 184,000 Danish Kroner. To wrap up the successful inaugural season, Rob Hollink won the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final where he took home a whopping 635,000 Danish Kroner. All of these players gallantly displayed their skills and strategies to emerge as the top winners of this wonderful debut season.

Eventually, this successful first season became an important stepping stone for the success of the event. Numerous aspiring poker players in the continent started to take notice of the event. These people have started to dream of taking part in this prestigious poker event.
