European Poker Tour 2005: The Second Season
After a very successful debut season, the european poker Tour continued on what it has already started. The jump-off period established this event as one of the biggest annual happenings in the world of poker. More and more players anticipated what would be another hit season for the event.
Just like the very first season, the event continued to feature the biggest poker tournaments in Europe. Many professional poker players started to take notice at this event. They have started to make future plans of participating in this so-called major poker event. An increasing number of good and competitive European poker players slowly emerged into the limelight. This wonderful opportunity showed to the world that these players are also a major force to reckon with in poker.
The second season took off at the EPT Barcelona Open tournament in Spain. This tournament was held from the 16th to the 17th of September 2005. This two-day event saw a total number of 325 players participating in a No Limit Texas Holdem poker. The total prize for this event was valued at 1,300,000 danish kroner. This particular tournament was won by Jan Boubli of France who took home the grand pot that is valued at 416,000 Danish Kroner.
The second tournament for the European Poker Tour 2005 season was the EPT London tournament in England. This event was held from September 30 to October 2, 2005. This event saw 236 players participating in a grueling battle for poker supremacy. The total prize that was shed out for this particular tournament alone was a whopping 1,033,000 Danish Kroner. Mark Teltscher of Great Britain dominated the event, taking home the grand pot valued at 408,400 Danish Kroner.
The third tournament for the season was the EPT Baden Classic which was held from the 4th to the 6th of October 2005. Patrik Antonius of Finland took home the grand prize of 218,990 Danish Kroner. The fourth installment for the season was the EPT Dublin tournament in Ireland from October 29 to 30, 2005. In this particular tournament, Mats Gavatin dominated the event and took home a total prize of 317,000 Danish Kroner.
The fifth and sixth tournaments for the European Poker Tour 2005 were the Scandinavian Open and the French Open. These tournaments were an excellent start for the year 2006. The events were dominated by Mads Andersen of Denmark and Mats Iremark of Sweden, winning 341,427 Danish Kroner and 480,000 Danish Kroner respectively.
To wrap up yet another successful season, the EPT Grand Final was held from the 7th to the 11th of March 2006. The event saw a total of 298 poker players who participated in this particular event. The prize pool for the entire tournament was a glittering 2,980,000 Danish Kroner. The grand pot was eventually won by Jeff Williams, who took home a total of 900,000 Danish Kroner.
