A Historical Background on the European Poker Tour

British director John Duthie has been appointed chief executive officer and executive producer of the European Poker Tour. After conceptualizing this event, he was the main man responsible for bringing world-class poker tournaments and competitions to more than 40 countries worldwide. Since then, the show may have made a lasting mark on the minds of billions of people worldwide.
The event is already close to finishing four successful seasons since its global release in 2004. There were also a lot of changes that were made to the tour for the sole purpose of improving the event. Throughout the next few years, the event already became a mainstream attraction. The first season was conducted between September 2004 and March 2005. All of the events done in this short span of time have been conducted in different locations throughout Europe. In March 2005, Schaefer once again proved to the world why he is one of the best in poker after winning the Monte Carlo Grand Final.
After a very successful debut year for the European Poker Tour, it was immediately followed by the second, third and fourth seasons. Each year proves to be a success as the event became known for closely matching up with the respect and accomplishments earned by the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker throughout the years. This annual event has undoubtedly become one of the most prestigious happenings in the world of poker.
